Government Director (UAE NATIONAL)
Job Function: The purpose of the role is to plan, develop and implement the strategy for all governmental events. To meet agreed performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales. Job Scope: Internally: Events management department, Sales and Marketing departments Externally: Vendors, clients, artists and their managers, sponsors, media houses, PR and ticket outlets. Dimensions: Financial Sales Targets – not identified Expenditure Budget – not identified Departmental Budget – not identified Subordinates Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following Operations o Develop and communicate the business plan. o Identify new opportunities, conceptualize ideas and finalize deals. o Provide guidelines to PR & Marketing dept for publicizing the events Event Management o Oversee and ensure that event plan is communicated to related deparments and that execution is timely. o Design the contents of the event and communicate to the respective departments o Produce and communicate the technical flow-chart and the allocated responsibilities chart o Act as a point of authority during the event execution and ensure smooth operations. o Approve post-event analysis report. Management of Team o Manage and develop direct reporting staff to continually improve performance o Identify any training needs and evaluate training delivered to ensure effectiveness Key Performance Indicators: Sales revenue Number of events held in period Level of repeat business Staff attrition Key Competencies: Competencies Commercial focus and business awareness Proven event management skills Proven management skills Analytical / problem solving / troubleshooting skills Presentation skills and the ability to influence Results orientated Knowledge Education/ Qualifications Experience MS Office Event management Technical flow charts and responsibility charts Business evaluation and financial understanding Excellent understanding of the ME regional market Educated to degree level; within communications or media and business studies 5 - 7 years within the Events function, with at least 3 years successfully managing events, preferably within the region.
